‘WE ARE HIS WORKMANSHIP’

God has a plan for the Nations

When God talks about the plight of the perishing nations, the immediate thing that follows is a call or a search for a man.

“So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall, and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one. – Ezekiel 22:30

Down through the ages, man has always been the instrument God uses to accomplish His agenda on earth. What distinguishes the man God uses is not his own wisdom or ability but understanding and keying into what God is doing in his generation.

At The Point of Divine Recruitment

When it comes to the place of divine recruitment, one thing we noticed is that it is not by effort or struggle. The scriptures made us to understand that…

The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all. – Eccl. 9:11

For by strength no man shall prevail. – 1 Sam. 2:9

When God put out His recruitment advert, the qualification and the disqualification are the situation (condition) of the heart.

“… For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” – 1 Sam. 16:7

The man God uses does not look like it. He is not the man that men expect because he is not the man after the heart of men but the man after the heart of God. Read 1 Corinthians 1:26-29

Such men are ordinary men who only responded promptly when the Lord told them to blow the trumpets on their mouths, to break the pitchers on their hands, to shine the lights in their lives.

The LORD said, “‘I have found David the son of Jesse, a man after My own heart, who will do all My will.'” – Acts 13:22
